Al-Hijra Open University provides such a platform for students of all ages and genders where they can read all the necessary subjects related to the Qur'an and Hadith from elementary to higher level in a phased manner without any particular time or place, directly from highly qualified teachers.

Al-Hijra Open University does not belong to any particular school of thought or sect. It follows solely Qur'an and authentic Sunnah according to the understanding of the first three generations of Muslim scholars. It recognizes and holds in high regard the contributions of the great Imams to the development of Fiqh and benefits from all of them. It has been ensured that all the teachers adhere to the methods of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah, Salaf al-Saliheen and Al-Adillah al-Muttafiqah.

Al-Hijra Open University was launched by Shaykh Abdullah Nasir Rehmani in 2021.

Al-Hijra Open University is registered under the Society Registration Act 1861, in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Efforts are underway to get affiliated with more domestic and foreign universities.

Al-Hijra Open University is an online university which means that it is accessible anywhere with a computer or mobile and an Internet connection. Al-Hijra Open University’s head office is based in Karachi, Pakistan but the entire study is conducted only on the Internet.

Al-Hijra Open University is an online educational resource. The entire program is taught online via the internet. Anybody from any part of the world can join easily and benefit from it, if one has access to a computer or mobile and an internet connection, In Sha Allah.

The courses are pre-recorded. We conduct weekly Google Meet sessions on different subjects where the students can ask their teachers and have their queries resolved. Moreover, WhatsApp groups are active 24/7 to assist students in learning course material more deeply and concretely.

Currently, Al-Hijra Open University offers the following programs:

• Aalim/Aalimah Course (traditionally known as Dars-e-Nizami)
• Various Short Courses (Tajweed, Arabic Grammar, Tafseer, Hadith, Aqeedah, Arabic Conversation, etc.)

No. The videos are viewable online only.

All courses are taught in Urdu. In addition to Urdu, English and Arabic have also been used as auxiliary languages for the convenience of students.

Any student who knows how to speak and write Urdu can enroll at any time.

There is no prior education or qualification required.

There is no age or gender restriction to join. 

Aalim/Aalimah Course is a 5-year-long course which comprises 10 semesters.

Students who do not wish to be included in the full curriculum may be enrolled separately in a particular subject.

Registrations are open all year round.

Online Courses are self-paced. You may start and complete the course at your desired time and pace.

Al-Hijra Open University provides students with a high-quality education at very reasonable fees. We also offer scholarships to deserving students.

Yes, discounts or scholarships are available for deserving students.

No. All payments will be charged in USD or PKR.

There is no fee charged for course materials, which consist of PDF files. We also provide an E-Library for students free of charge. If a student wishes to purchase hard copies of the required texts, they may do so from external sources.
